FYI, this review is unbiased, and we are not selling anything here. Here’s what I thought of the platform.

Founding story

iCopify was funded by Eric in 2021. In the early days, it was basically run by two really dedicated people.

The founders started iCopify to create a platform where business giants and small vendors alike have access to publication and marketing tools. Be it a local plumber or the second-biggest company in Singapore.

iCopify focuses on accessibility, simple design, and oversimplification of the ordering process to make guest posting easy for those who are not necessarily tech-savvy or have a lot of experience with SEO.

Today, iCopify has over 80k users and handles over 700 orders almost every day.

Interface

iCopify has a clean interface, and I really like their add to wishlist, blacklist, and report the publisher site feature. The platform shows organic traffic, Ahrefs DR, Moz DA, link type, turnaround time, and a few more data points.

However, the filter options could be better with more advanced filters. The key features do not include traffic geo-distribution or its historical trend, and the domain authority metrics used are Ahrefs DR and Moz DA—both susceptible to manipulation.

Buying backlinks

I also tested the platform from a user perspective. If a customer is looking to buy backlinks from iCopify, his/her journey will start with filtering for sites based on a set of criteria.

Similarly, I want to promote my SaaS tool and want it to be linked from authoritative websites. My criteria for such a website includes:

  1. More than 1,000 monthly organic traffic. Traffic is the numero uno factor for me.
  2. A stable or growing traffic. Declining trend is not what I am looking for.
  3. The site should get the majority of its traffic from the US. It’s my home market.
  4. The site should be relevant to my industry. That’s what a high-quality backlink is about.
  5. The site’s Semrush AS should be higher than my site (which is currently at 24). Other domain authority metrics are not reliable since they can be manipulated easily.
  6. I prefer the content publisher or platform copywriter to create content following their guidelines, using my input as the foundation.
  7. Lastly, the backlink should cost less than $200. A reasonable price expectation.

With these criteria in mind, I set out to filter the listed sites on iCopify.

I could easily filter for category, monthly traffic, and price. I can also filter for content creation and placement based on the service type.

That’s 4 out of 7 criteria checked from filters.

The remaining three are – traffic trend, Semrush AS, and traffic share by country.

Unfortunately, iCopify does not show any of these three metrics – traffic historical trend, Semrush AS, and traffic share by country. So, the score still remain as 4 out of 7.

Data accuracy

Next, I also checked how accurate the provided data is. I pick three random sites and cross-check their traffic data.

Since iCopify uses Similarweb data to show site traffic, I’m checking the same on Similarweb.

All three random sites I checked have accurate data posted on the iCopify platform. The traffic data matches exactly what Similarweb shows.

So, good job on that!

Customer support speed and quality

To check the company’s support quality, we submitted an anonymous support request asking about how to use filters.

The support team replied within 24 hours, which is great. The response was decent and helpful as well.

However, Fatgrid users have complained the support is poor and unresponsive. In addition, customers have reported the prices are not respected by the sellers. We have accounted for this in our support quality rating.

Public reviews responsiveness

iCopify has a mix of good and bad reviews on Trustpilot.

- xamsor

An interesting 1* review caught my eye.

The user complained about how one of iCopify’s verified publisher sites had fake stats and the site was not indexed. iCopify replied – the stats are not fake since they are taken from Ahrefs and Moz APIs.

I checked the website in question. Turns out, they both are right in a way.

The site has an Ahrefs DR of 48. iCopify is not showing fake stats.

But once you look at the site’s Semrush data, you get a clear picture. The site has zero organic traffic, and its Authoirty Score is 6—reflecting its true current state.

iCopify might have to clean up these kinds of sites that had fallen out of Google’s favor. And also include a more reliable metric like Semrush AS.

Founders accessibility

We love talking to founders about their products and requested a short interview from all the rating participants.

Unfortunately, iCopify declined our request, so we couldn’t gather any additional insights from its founders.

Bottomline

We definitely consider iCopify a legit guest-posting marketplace. They have qualified listings, tons of inbound traffic, decent filter options, and an excellent support. However, there is a lack of publisher metrics, and information about founders is something the platform needs to focus on. Overall, iCopfy.co is a decent platform to gain backlinks.
